vigil is built on trust. your data is yours. we collect the minimum necessary to make the app work and nothing more. we never sell your data. we never will.
The monk mode coach uses Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. When you send a message to the coach, that message is sent to Anthropic's servers to generate a reply. Anthropic does not store your messages beyond the immediate request. Your conversation history is stored only on your device and in your Firebase account.
We do not use your coach conversations to train AI models.
Your data is stored in Google Firebase, which uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We use Firebase Security Rules to ensure only you can access your own data — not even we can read your journal entries.
To permanently delete your account and all associated data, email us at support@vigilfocus.com with the subject "Delete My Account." We will permanently delete everything within 30 days.
You can also delete your account from within the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account.
Vigil is rated 4+ and is appropriate for all ages. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately.
If we make significant changes to this privacy policy we will notify you via the app. Continued use of vigil after changes means you accept the updated policy.
